I gotta tell you, I am in love with the idea of vintage camera equipment, as well as Polaroids, as THE perfect engagement session accessories!  Often times couples feel too overwhelmed by engagement sessions with big themes, lots of props, clothing etc.  Working with some wonderful old school camera equipment, having a good time shooting another with Polaroids, and of course bringing your best attitude, can truly make for a lovely engagement photographs, just as Andrea Garvin & Trent Breci prove here!  California photographer Siegel Thurston Photography uniquely captured some really fun aspects of working with cameras, from viewing the couple within the frame of a medium format camera, to artistic views of Polaroids held in our couple’s hands.  Andrew & Trent ham it up just the right amount to bring the extra zest that makes the session perfection!  With just the right accessory or two your session can be art all its own!

Simply put, I find so many elements to this engagement session fabulous on so many different levels!  Firstly, there is a beautiful simplicity to Jessica Newsom & Leo Fitch’s engagement session in that Leo used to fish the San Diego River as  a child & brought Jessica there on earlier dates.  This lovely marshy spot has significance not only to the Leo, but the both of them… CHECK!  Next up is the styling of our sweet fishing couple.  Jessica & Leo are styled in  unique enough, yet totally complimentary to one another, ensembles that add just the right amount of zest to the brown reed heavy terrain.  The style is cute rural casual with a well put together flare, & let’s be honest here, the yellow rain boots kill it….CHECK!  Keeping with accessories, the rain boots aren’t the only awesome element, while fishing poles & tackle box were a styling must, it is the bubble umbrella that is a really fun addition and I am looooving the through the plastic shots from Brandon Hearth Photo…CHECK!  Lastly and most importantly, the chemistry between Jessica & Leo is undeniable and what I love most is their willingness to play…CHECK!  Jessica & Leo, with the aid of course of Brandon Heath, nailed the major essentials to any stellar engagement session: Great Location, Perfect Styling, Fun Props {when they fit}, and an awesome couple ready to have fun!

When two book  loving teachers collide, 10 years in the making, only a volume infused engagement session will do!  Krystal Gonzales & Michael Marquin wanted to sample their professional loves, using learning materials as their inspiration for their engagement session.  Starting off in the school library, our couple was saucy & vibrant.  Heading into the gorgeous sunset time of day, the couple shifted to an open lush green field for an outdoor picnic, complete with graded kissing session of course!  These two school cuties embraced their professional background and as such, a super sweet engagement session is a treat for all!

Wanting to inject some festive fun into their engagement photos, Katie Crocco & TJ Helly opted for the iconic Hershey Park theme park to play host to their session.  Heading to the park in the late afternoon, our two sweeties simply enjoyed their time together, laughing, cuddling, playfully having a go at Whack-A-Mole, all the while preserved by Zen Photography.  As it was the holiday season, our couple was able to capture that holiday vibe without screaming Christmas and I love that about this shoot.  The rides provide the perfect air of whimsy while Katie & TJ bring the sweet love!

Nothing is sweeter then small town young love going on a late summer’s day date with a stop at the local ice cream shop.  Shannon Waite & Karl Resch popped into Stahl’s Bakery, a local favorite in New Baltimore, grabbing a tasty treat.  The iconic shop made for a lovely set up, bringing in that hometown feel, though nothing quite tops Karl’s grandfather’s cabin, a rundown property that is filled with all kinds of great places to shoot!  Shannon & Karl’s day is iconic & sweet, just the way any great Americana shoot should be!
