Every now and again we get to reap some pretty cool rewards as a result of our business, but all too often these treats are things that we really aren't able to share with anyone beyond ourselves, which is a total bummer... When I was approached by Apothederm to have a go at their Firming Serum AND be able to share the love with you guys, well let's just say I got a wee bit giddy inside! You may have heard of Apothederm before, I certainly have seen them at a spa or two in my travels, heck they might have even snuck into your Birchbox! The beauty of the firming serum is that this is seriously up a bride's ally! Every woman is worried not just about how her makeup will look, but how her skin will shine. A firming serum can take some of the worry out of the equation and what bride doesnt need one thing less to stress on!
Why do we love classics as much as we do?? When it comes to classics everything was done right, and as such we fell hard for them. I don't know if The Notebook is old enough to be considered a classic just yet, but let's be honest, the cult film's 'classic' status is pretty much a done deal! Jaclyn & Zach Sargent dipped their toes into the Notebook pool for a portion of their engagement session, sampling 1940's ensembles, a super gorgeous vintage truck & pieces of old hard sided suitcases for a bit of a travel spin to things. Couple these great props & styling with the dreamy old school quality in which Ashlee Layne Photography captured them and you have the makings for a sweet session with some serious swoon vibes! There is a bashful coyness to Jaclyn & Zach's affection for one another, something that is wonderfully sweet & captivating. I love the ease with which the styled session seems to take place & sampling something from the past is always great for inspiration!
The winter months can be a hard one to tackle at times. If the lovely outdoors isn't covered in a fresh coat of snow things can start looking a rough around the edges. I hate to say it, but a bit dead and not so pretty, so whats a gal to do!? A team in Iceland wasn't scared of situations like this and wanted to meet the challenge head on, setting up a styled shoot in a spacious open field they played with a palette that is warm & one that can easily slide between seasons, Peach & Gold. Naturally the setup, thanks to the location, has a bit of a rustic feel, however elements like the chiavari chairs complete with woven peach chair sashes and unique linens bring a bit of a sophisticated touch. Our bride is also not afraid of the cooler months, donning a wonderfully fresh open back gown with ruffled front. One thing I do love about fall/winter brides is the ability to accessorize when it comes to keeping warm, and I am totally loving the winter wedding sweater! To finish the look, our bride's pinned curls are covered by a lovely birdcage veil which is accented by a feather fascinator. The overall look is one that embraces nature in her winter months, adding a pop of shine & a tone of warm color!
