{SBW Supported Charities} JVDB More Bad Hair Days For Lyncoln Henderson
Hair is something that every bride concerns herself with leading up to her big day. Do I want it up, down, veil or fasicinator, side chignon or textured do. Not only do they worry about themselves but they also have to consider the looks if their bridesmaids as well! Now imagine if you had a medical condition that took your hair away from you not allowing you to this right of bridal passage? Pretty much like every female on the planet, our hair is a sacred thing to each of us. Have that taken away from us, and you might as well take away our ability to express ourselves.
Lyncoln Henderson has atopic dermatitis, a skin condition that causes hair loss. I came to know of Lyncoln as I follow James Van Der Beek on twitter. While scanning through tweets the other day I noticed something he tweeted about having a bad hair day, naturally… I was intrigued. After clicking through I realized James actually met Lyncoln 14 years ago through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Being the stellar guy we all know James to be, he remained friends with Lyncoln ever since! As life would have it, she has been unfortunately robbed of all the hair on her head. Like most girls, she wants so desperately to go through the same plight we all do, with our good and bad hair days growing up. There is a procedure that could actually get Lyncoln her hair back, who by the way, is simply dying to have a bad hair day!
You know, the ones we all grip about in vain, that ruin our day, yeah those, she is dying to be able to have bad hair days again! JVDB More Bad Hair Days has since been put together in effort to help raise the necessary $25,000 in order to get Lyncoln her much needed procedure!
I have a soft spot of our youth and am a sucker for great causes! Naturally I’ve sent along my donation and now I encourage you to do the same. Donations starting as low as $1 are accepted and there really is no reason not to donate to such a great & fun cause. If you need a touch on incentive {I know you awesome folks don’t!} each donation level is paired with a special James treat as a Thank You! In addition to these treats there is also a contest you can register to win, a Skype with James Van Der Beek anyone?!
Since donating I have been twitting back and forth with the super sweet Lyncoln and have suggested she get a tumble account going for all her bad hair days to come! I implore everyone to embrace the bad hair days we all whine about and do our level best to help Lyncoln be able to get a good case of bed head again!
