Why do we love classics as much as we do?? When it comes to classics everything was done right, and as such we fell hard for them. I don't know if The Notebook is old enough to be considered a classic just yet, but let's be honest, the cult film's 'classic' status is pretty much a done deal! Jaclyn & Zach Sargent dipped their toes into the Notebook pool for a portion of their engagement session, sampling 1940's ensembles, a super gorgeous vintage truck & pieces of old hard sided suitcases for a bit of a travel spin to things. Couple these great props & styling with the dreamy old school quality in which Ashlee Layne Photography captured them and you have the makings for a sweet session with some serious swoon vibes! There is a bashful coyness to Jaclyn & Zach's affection for one another, something that is wonderfully sweet & captivating. I love the ease with which the styled session seems to take place & sampling something from the past is always great for inspiration!
I don't know about you, but today's engagement session has a real wanderlust feel to it and I am utterly in loooove with it! When this gem first hit my inbox it immediately screamed California to me. Don't ask me why exactly, it just did, ok?! but of course I was wrong as this dreamy evening session took place in Georgia! There is a truly magical quality to the light throughout each shot as it evolves over the course of their evening session. Allison Rhee & Seung Kit Song elegantly walked the line, one foot in the world of the boho hippie, the other in that of a more hipster chic. No matter the styling, a very free spirit feeling was captured in each image, wonderfully expressed by Allison & Seung. A more playful lighter love was felt in the open fields & tie dyed old yellow school bus while a more serious & artful tone was taken along the wood fence rails, along with the adventurous goats of the dark & mysterious farm. A true purist and lover of proper film, each image was photographed on Kodak Porta 400 Film by Atlanta based photographer Kendra Elise Photography. From the open plains of grass to the tippy tall trees that surround the farm each image perfectly frames the giddy love of Allison & Seung and I feel swoony right along with them!

No matter how much I try to break away from the more traditional engagement photos in favor of those more theme centric, there are a handful of photographers & shoots that always seem to pull me back in. Vancouver based fine art photographer Ken Tan Photo is one of these photographers that I can never seem to quite get enough of. Shooting everything entirely on film, Ken's ability to transcend natural light is truly a gift, compound that with his artistic eye and framing et volia, eye candy! Today's session is just one example of that kind of lovely, not to mention it certainly doesn't hurt that Hong Kong based couple, Selina Chen and Alfred Wong, are easy on the eyes! While back for only a few weeks in Vancouver to take care of some wedding planning, the couple were able to meet up with Ken for this gorgeous session wrapped in the soft buttery twilight that falls so lovingly on the Pacific coast. Photographically speaking the imagery is stunning, but it is the captured moments, the intimacy and honesty that is so utterly captivating.
Girl sees boy. Boy strums along on his guitar. They lock eyes. Girl makes her move, boy makes his. A simple sweet love story of a gal who happens upon a boy and they instantly fall in love! Danielle DesGeorges & Jon Greany wanted a super fun story to go along with their engagement session and so the oldie but goodie instant love attraction was born all perfectly captured by Elevate Photography! Danielle & Jon are utterly adorable acting out their street perform romance, wonderfully giddy & gushy in all the most perfect ways. As all good love at first sight romances should go, they head off into the sunset on their moped to canoodle under the twilight sun. You'd think the perfect story would be over there, but you'd be wrong! As the sun set, the childlike whimsy came alive in the form of a glitter fight, to which Jon plays THE perfect curmudgeon, but naturally Danielle wins him over in the end! I love the youthful exuberance to this engagement sessions as a whole and I am sure you will fall in love right along with them!
