I apologize ahead of time for my post &  its briefness.  I have eaten something that is terribly disagreeing with me, so not having the best of mornings to date.

A short while back Design Sponge featured a post: DIY Project Ephemera Collage Art.  While this was used for a Valentine’s Day related post, the idea can be applied to just about anything.  This would make for some wonderful hand made invites, guest book you name it.  I really like this idea!  Get creative!

When I first saw the post for this DIY on Design Sponge, I wont lie, I totally made an assumption.  I saw it and was like Oh My!  That looks like its going to be hard!  As I read through the DIY tutorial, I quickly realize, it totally wasnt hard at all!  I think thats a sign of a good project gone right!  Something that looks much more labor intensive then it really is, read: Looks like a million bucks!

While Anthropologie is amazing, they often carry things that are a bit more then I would personally care to spend on certain things now & again.  It seems that the gals at Design Sponge share my opinion on that as well.  Dont get me wrong, I love me some Anthropologie!!  As it were, the Rhododendron Chandelier was the object of attention in this particular case.  The gals thought it was lovely, but wanted to find a way to DIY it & quite frankly, I thank them for that!

As you read through the steps you realize what is done to achieve the overall look is nothing more then perfectly picked cupcake wrappers & a hot glue gun!  Well ok maybes it slightly more involved then that, but you get my gist.  These would make a superb addition to any reception, even dance floor.  Grab a couple of your girls & get to gluing!  Just think, twilight time of day & these optical illusion orbs glowing in the air!  I love it!

Head to Design Sponge for the full DIY tutorial!

Stamped Envelope Liners by Oh Happy Day

 129     03.16.2012 11:19 am

I love details, every single little detail you can squeak out.  Weddings, events & parties are as lovely and amazing as they are because of details.  Did you know however, your clever detail work can begin from your very first guest point of contact?  How so you ask?  Your Save The Dates & Invitations!

Stamped Envelope Liners Oh Happy Day

There is a small, frequently overlooked area in your wedding papers, that can make a really strong impact….  the inside of your envelopes!  I am sure at least once or twice in your life you’ve come across an envelope whose inside was a different color, print, material, then the envelope itself.  Envelope liners elevate standard mailers to sophisticated more put together state of affairs.  As essentially you are working with a blank palette, the world is purely your oyster here.  Whether you simply want to go with a solid jarring different color, or a complex print, there is no wrong choice.  Perhaps you can get really clever and have a hand drawn sketch of a map of your event serve as the liner!  And by all means, if it fits your event, be cheeky!

Stamped Envelope Liners Oh Happy Day Detail

Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day   has put together a super simple, easy to follow DIY tutorial on sweet hand stamped envelope liners.  This is a perfect way to incorporate your colors & have a bit of polka dot fun!  Realize though, that simply because Jordan’s version is dots, your not relegated to that one shape, pick whatever works best for you!  Happy Stamping & Lining!

Egg Decorating Ideas The Sweetest Occasion

Sorry for the cheesetastic moment I just had there in the title.  You wouldnt believe how much I reined myself in, settling on  just Eggscellent!  Easter is slowly creeping our way, & as such pastels are beginning to take center stage along with bunnies & baby chicks.  I’ve always really appreciated & enjoyed Easter, even was its had balls enough to land directly on  my birthday!

Seriously though, if you can separate all the amazing Easter decor elements out & look beyond them having a one dimensional use for only that holiday, you’ll find some pretty wonderful decor elements that can absolutely fit into stunning spring weddings.  When Easter elements are combined, they scream Easter.  Use eggs for a greater power & you have clever artistc, rustic, shabby chic even elements to bring your wedding together.

I’ve collected some egg eye candy of some really incredible decorating options that can do some wonderful things for your overall look.  Ps-Martha took the lead on awesomeness here, but really, are you that surprised?

Lastly is a super clever use of eggs, which is essentially a forum for written word.  I love this!  Actually the site that this comes from has other similar uses which are great.  One versions is actually using eggs as escort cards!!  I love it!

Hope this inspired our spring brides to incorporate some gorgeous eggs into their weddings & change some minds into thinking of egg decorating as more then just Easter!!
