Being an island apart could not keep Rosella Leonhardt & Dane Wicker from destiny!  Both living on the island of Oahu, their paths eventually crossed leaving Rosella with one big impression…  ”I’m gonna get him one day…”  One day came 9 years later, after having been together the moment they met, yet also achieving many milestones individually!  Embracing the Hawaiian spirit & beauty, they married in a lush multi-terrace garden overlooking an ancient Hawaiian fishpond.  Opting for a non-traditional ceremony set up, guest chairs were organized into a spiral, positioning guests to warmly embrace the couple in a ring of love as they married.  Playing on the garden setting, wanting to inject some more vintage & rustic elements, the couple utilized chalkboards, wine corks, & Rosella’s father’s 1924 Ford Model-T for portraits!  We’re loving this explosion of purple infused Hawaiian garden wedding & swooning over our groom’s reaction to making it official!

Leafing through these boudoir photos, I am met with the sense that somewhere off in the distance, gently dancing in the wind, one can hear the sweet romantic melodies of music from the 30′s & 40′s.  The well styled outdoor bedroom scene is placed in just the right area which always the shadows branches & leaves to playfully join along in the shoot.  There is a strong vintage vibe overall implied from the styling of our gal’s hair & makeup with the soft finger waves & sweet mauve lips to the set all together.  I find it so incredibly dreamy & yummy, the idea of getting cozy in your very best knickers and lounging on bed amongst the trees!

Southern charm always gets the mention, but its southern glam that really captivates!  Nicole Maready decided to have a private bridal portrait session with Christi Falls Photography leading up to her wedding.  The Duke Mansion played host, setting the scene for her captivating bridals.  I absolutely love Nicole’s half up barrel curl do & perfectly done makeup.  While Nicole’s one shoulder gown is indeed perfection, its the sparkly Louboutin’s that have my eye!

You know I love a good boudoir shoot, they are my {not so secret} crack I am starting to think!  I am dubbing today’s boudoir session ‘The Boyfriend Boudoir’  Why, right?  Here’s my take, this shoot reminds me of the different times in a relationship where the boys {or gals} might find you sexier then all get out, making those photo memories if you will. Starting with that Sunday kinda love, where you wake up next to the person, see them in the early light of the morning & know they are the most beautiful person in the world, as they are simply them, & that is what you  love.  To the Oh SNAP!  moment when you walk through the door, home from work, to find her dressed in her fanciest knickers, a spot of bling for flavor, having playful draped your favorite tie around her neck hiding the special parts just so.  One of those moments that is so hot it forever causes a subtle stir deep inside whenever you wear said tie from that moment on.   From the playful to the naughty, this boudoir session from Kelly Rucker Photography is real life perfect!

Chevron has been a huge new trend hit this year, racking up the Pinterest pins, causing all the girls to swoon & not just in weddings! We just can’t stop loving chevron. Chevron has such a strong yet simple geometric shape, they naturally become the center of any wedding theme, really making a powerful statement. A prime example of their ability to take center stage is in our DIY inspirational shoot.

Mariah Rainier Style choose a bold black & white zig-zag chevron fabric as the isle runner which perfectly complements the bright turquoise buffet table. The turquoise buffet table/alter served double duty, easily transforming into a stunning dessert table with the focus on a beautifully hand painted chevron mixer by Un-Amore Custom Design {SBW Note: You might recall we did a post earlier on Un Amore, who is AH-mazing! Link to the post Here} that carried the theme of the chevron throughout. The delicious and oh so grand wedding cake was made by Happy Cakes and Events.  Hydrangeas enhance the focal point of the table top decor, overflowing beautifully out of the vintage trunk.  The vibrant blue hydrangeas used in the brides bouquet compliment her stunning blue eyes, adding a splash of color to the beautiful wedding gown by LaineeMeg Bridal {formerly known as From the Gown Up}. Makeup for the bride’s big day was masterfully done by Elle Makeup Artistry while the stunning upswept hair was done by Sarah Kelley. The vintage doors add a grand element of drama to the entrance of our bride as she has her first meeting with her groom, as well as her walk down the aisle.

This chevron pattern is so versatile and looks fabulous for this modern wedding. The print is bold and stands out, but definitely not so much that it takes away from your other beautiful décor. The best thing about incorporating a chevron pattern for your big day plans is that it looks amazing in any color.
